International march for freedon of oppressed peoples and minorities
On 22nd October this year the three European capitals of Berlin, Paris and Rome hosted the International March for Freedom of Oppressed Peoples and Minorities.
Cabinda was represented at the main event in Rome by the person of Martinho Lubango (pictured) who took the floor and spoke to the international audience consisting mostly of Italians, assembled in the “Piazza Bocca della Verità”. The subject was carefully raised and strong sympathy was expressed by those present for the plight of the people of Cabinda .
Martinho Lubango summed up the situation from the origins of Cabinda up to the present, and urged the international community to help Cabindans because no people was ever freed from foreign domination or occupation without the help of other free peoples and lovers of freedom.
Economic interests should not override the freedom and the rights of the people.
It should be remembered that Cabinda is experiencing a situation of extreme difficulty at present, due to increased oppression against a defenseless population, to such a point that the Angolan regime published on a “satellite website “a list of Cabindans to be murdered by the regime to ensure, they say, an end to the claims of Cabinda.
